ANNA, Ill. -- John C. "Pa" Cassel, 95, of Anna died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Union County Hospital.

He was born June 6, 1912, in Anna, son of Alonzo and Hulda Dillow Cassel. He and Anna E. Headrick were married Oct. 10, 1940, in Cape Girardeau.

Cassel was a lifelong farmer and a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Evelyn Cox of Anna; a sister, Anna Winn of Anna; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and two grandsons.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Roath officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
