SIKESTON, Mo. -- John B. Butrum, 80, of Sikeston died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at his home.
He was born Oct. 14, 1924, at Parma, Mo., son of Alfred and Katherine Lee Butrum. He and Virginia L. Woods were married Jan. 13, 1949, in Sikeston.
Butrum was a retired welder from Steward Steel. He was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Erwin of Battle Ground, Wash.; two daughters, Janet Winders of Bertrand, Mo., Joy Riddle of Sikeston; a foster son, Larry Ray of Scott City; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Marvin Butrum, a nephew, and Paul Swilley officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, with full military rites.
