SIKESTON, Mo. -- John Lester Bryant, 62, of Sikeston died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, from injuries received in an accident while on a business trip with Tetra Pak Materials Inc. He was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Morehouse, Mo., son of John Henry and Elma Newton Bryant. He and Brenda Stacy were married Feb. 18, 1967, in Sikeston...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- John Lester Bryant, 62, of Sikeston died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, from injuries received in an accident while on a business trip with Tetra Pak Materials Inc.

He was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Morehouse, Mo., son of John Henry and Elma Newton Bryant. He and Brenda Stacy were married Feb. 18, 1967, in Sikeston.

Bryant was plant manager 35 years at Tetra Pak. He was a member of Trinity Gospel Church, Scott County Republican Committee and Sikeston Elks Lodge.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeffery Bryant of Sikeston; two brothers, Ron Bryant of Youngsville, La., Glen Bryant of Salem, Ill.; two sisters, Joy Appleton of Sikeston, Judy Cole of Pevely, Mo.; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Gospel Church, with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
