PERRYVILLE -- John E. Bishop, 73, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 15, 1923, in Perry County, son of George Washington and Meniah Isabell Loberg Bishop. He and Eileen H. Hendrix were married Jan. 15, 1944.
Bishop retired as owner-operator of John Bishop Poultry Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Chamber of Commerce, and booster member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald Bishop of St. Charles, Ill., Lindell Bishop of St. James; three sisters, Irene Baugh of Imperial, Flora Weinrich of Cape Girardeau, Ada Hoch of Perryville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Friday, and Saturday after 6:30 a.m.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jonathan Brown officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Methodist Cemetery in Bollinger County.
