John B. "Jack" Hendricks, 59, of 2588 Lisa Drive, died Friday, July 30, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 31, 1934, in New Madrid, to Robert and Nettie Gurnow Hendricks.
On April 18, 1959, Hendricks married Doris Householder in New Madrid. She survives, along with two sons, John B. Hendricks, Jr., and Larry Hendricks, both of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Robert Hendricks of Jackson and Al Hendricks of New Madrid; three sisters, Kathryn Frye of Sebring, Fla., Estelle Hendricks and Lou Stellato, both of New Madrid. Three grandchildren also survive.
Hendricks was a flight controller and flight service station specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration. Before coming to Cape Girardeau, he was an air controller at the FAA's Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center. He was a flight service station specialist at FAA Flight Service Station at the Cape Girardeau Airport until his retirement in 1987.
Hendricks was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Church, and a member of Eagles Aire 3775.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and until 9:30 a.m. on Monday, at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:30 p.m., today, at the funeral home.
The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
