SIKESTON -- John Alexander Moll, 82, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 13, 1910, at Pharis Ridge, Mo., son of R. Edgar and Stella Ginger Moll.
He married Letha McDowell, April 15, 1933. She died Feb. 27, 1983.
He then married Olivia McClure, Dec. 22, 1984.
Moll was a lifelong resident of Sikeston. He graduated from the Sikeston Public Schools in 1929, and later from the Droughns Business College in St. Louis.
He began his career at the International Shoe Company. Moll then worked for the Scott County Milling Co., for the next 14 years.
Moll then moved to Crenshaw Distributing, where he served as treasurer for 25 years. He also served on the Sikeston Senior Citizens Nutrition Program Board for 18 years; 14 as chairman.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston for 66 years, serving as deacon for the last 25 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Edgar Moll of Ocean Reef, Fla., William G. Moll of Cincinnati, Ohio; a step-son, Stanley McClure of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, A.B. Moll of Anaheim, Calif., Edgar Roland Moll of St. Louis; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Sikeston, with the Rev. Jim Guffie officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sikeston City Cemetery.
