CAIRO, Ill. -- Funeral mass for John A. "Boo" Fischer III of Cairo was held Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiated, with burial in Calvary Cemetery at Villa Ridge. Barkett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Fischer, 29, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1993, at Community Health Services in Cairo.

Survivors include his parents, John and Mary Emma Fischer; two sisters, Julie Stone and Jane Fischer; a brother, Jamie Fischer, and maternal grandmother, Josephine Kaha, all of Cairo.
