CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Donnie Joe Williams, better known as Joe Williams, 73, of Chaffee and formally of Morley, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Chaffee Nursing Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Jan. 17, 1946, in Bee Branch, Arkansas, to the late Dee Elgee and Dovie Rice Williams. He married Jennie "Penny" Boeker on May 7, 1969, and she survives of the home.
Joe served in the U.S. Army from April 28, 1964, to May 9, 1966, when he was honorably discharged.
He was retired from the printing industry. He worked as an auto mechanic for J & P Auto Repair and retired after 35 years.
He was a member of Morley Baptist Church in Morley. He was a lifetime member of Morley Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 5368 and belonged to many other organizations.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jennie "Penny" Williams; daughter, Michelle (Tommy) Newell of Morley; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, a great-grandson, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Missouri.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
