SCOTT CITY -- Joe Mac Venable Mason, 82, of Scott City, died Monday, May 6, 1996, at Pope County Care Center in Golconda, Ill. She was born Jan. 22, 1914, in Bell City, daughter of William and Almora Thrower Bollinger. She first married George Earl "Buster" Venable Nov. 21, 1931. He died Oct. 12, 1957. She then married Hershel Mason Sept. 11, 1961. He died March 9, 1971...

SCOTT CITY -- Joe Mac Venable Mason, 82, of Scott City, died Monday, May 6, 1996, at Pope County Care Center in Golconda, Ill.

She was born Jan. 22, 1914, in Bell City, daughter of William and Almora Thrower Bollinger. She first married George Earl "Buster" Venable Nov. 21, 1931. He died Oct. 12, 1957. She then married Hershel Mason Sept. 11, 1961. He died March 9, 1971.

Mason was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City.

Survivors include a son, Don Venable of Scott City; two daughters, Barbara Towns of Golconda, Kathryn Buchanan of Rosiclare, Ill.; a brother, Finis Bollinger of New Haven, Mich.; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Eades officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
