JOE D. STOKELY

Funeral mass for Joe D. Stokely of St. Louis was held Wednesday at St. Simon Catholic Church there. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.

Kutis Affton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Stokely, 61, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1993, at his home.

He was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, son of Rosco and Mayme Lathem Stokely.

Stokely worked for Lyon Sheet Metal Co. in St. Louis. He was a member of St. Simon Church, Sheet Metal Workers Local 63, and Gateway Corkball Club.

Survivors include his wife, the former Marie Verstringer; a son, Bill Stokely; three daughters, Donna Kastner, Cathy Schwartz and Carolyn Srock, all of St. Louis; a brother, Jack Stokely of San Diego, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
