CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Robert Joseph "Joe" Carman, 61, of Charleston died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Charleston, son of George William and Mary Helen Lankheit Carman. He and Barbara Pemberton were married Jan. 24, 1970.
Carman worked a number of years at Flexible Foam Inc. (formerly Burkhart) in Cairo, Ill. A lifelong resident of Charleston, he was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Carman of Charleston; two brothers, Ernest Carman of Charleston and David Carman of Kelso, Mo.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry Church, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Texas Bend Cemetery near Charleston.
