SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Joe H. Bollinger, 79, of Sedgewickville died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Joe H. Bollinger, 79, of Sedgewickville died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Sedgewickville, son of Elmer and Mary Ellis Bollinger. He and Myrtle Weibrecht married Dec. 23, 1950, in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

He was a lifelong member of Patton Presbyterian Church and farmed in the Sedgewickvillle community. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Sam Bollinger of Sedgewickville, Ray Bollinger of Fruitland, Steve Bollinger of Jackson and Ron Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Carol Bollinger of Sedgewickville, Janet Hampton of Jackson, Ellen Hampton of Leadville, Colo., and Margie Schoppa of Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Blaylock officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger Family Cemetery near Sedgewickville.
