JOAN HOUSTON

Private service for Joan Houston of Cape Girardeau was held Tuesday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Ziegenhein Funeral Home of St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.

Houston, 67, died Saturday, May 25, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born April 17, 1929, in Murphysboro, Ill., daughter of Marlin K. and Mable I. Cain Holman. She and Donald H. Houston were married in 1946. He died in 1969.

Houston was formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., and St. Louis.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Masterson of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lorena Banes and Betty Pitrowski of Watseka, Ill.; a brother, Clyde Holman of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by a brother.
