ANNA, Ill. -- Joan M. Haas, 53, of Anna died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at her home.

She was born Oct. 9, 1946, in Chicago, daughter of Hugh and Jane Bergen Murnighan. She and Robert G. Haas were married June 16, 1973.

Haas was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Melanie Haas of Anna; her father of Hinsdale; two sisters, Donna Staab and Ann Murnighan of Chicago; and a brother, Dennis Murnighan of Frankfort.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, with Msgr. Ken Schaefer officiating. William Geffine will give the eulogy. Entombment will be in Pleasant Grove Mausoleum in Murphysboro.

Crain Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.
