Jo Ann Hinkebein, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 13, 1934, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Herman and Irma Robinson Schwepker. She and Ralph H. Jo Ann Hinkebein, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 13, 1934, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Herman and Irma Robinson Schwepker. She and Ralph H. Hinkebein Sr., were married May 4, 1957, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Dutchtown.

Hinkebein was a graduate of College High School in Cape Girardeau and attended Metro Business College for one year. She was employed at Farmers and Merchants Bank, Kroger, Montgomery Ward and retired from Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral and its Quilting Club. She was also active with Perpetual Adoration of Saint Francis Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph H. Hinkebein Sr., of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Ralph Hinkebein Jr. and Karlios Hinkebein, both of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Cindy Slinkard of Jackson, Becky Hinkebein and Beth Altenthal, both of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Bob Schwepker of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Emma Nichols of Kelso, Mary Dannenmueller of Oran and Bonnie Rubel of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and eight great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home with parish prayers at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Cathedral with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
