CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Jo Ann Downs, 75, of Charleston died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo. Downs was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Arkansas, daughter of W.E. and Beatrice McCracken Frazier, Sr. She lived in Charleston most of her life and was a member of the United Methodist Church. She and William A. Downs were married Jan. 15, 1946...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Jo Ann Downs, 75, of Charleston died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Downs was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Arkansas, daughter of W.E. and Beatrice McCracken Frazier, Sr.

She lived in Charleston most of her life and was a member of the United Methodist Church. She and William A. Downs were married Jan. 15, 1946.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Willis Downs of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Richard Frazier of Tampa, Fla., and Ran Frazier of Holland, Pa.; a sister, Jean Mehler of Melbourne, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.

Her body was cremated.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston, with the Rev. Ed Hankinson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
