Jimmy L. Yarbro, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born July 9, 1934, in Halls, Tenn., son of Louis C. and Vera L. May Yarbro. He and Mary Hopson were married Feb. 14, 1955, in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Yarbro was a truck driver 25 years with ABF, retiring in 1996. He was also co-owner of Woody's Auto Sales in Jackson. He was a member of Gospel Assembly in Sikeston, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1956.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Thomas Yarbro of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Anita Westbrook and Patricia Coleman of Cape Girardeau, Gina Yarbro of Jackson; his mother of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Roger Yarbro of Lawrence, Kan.; three sisters, Frances Gibson of Cape Girardeau, Marilyn Hopper of Wappapello, Mo., Velda Widdows of Paducah, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by her father, a brother, a sister, and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bobby Mouser officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3838.
