Jimmy Hahs

Jimmy C. Hahs, 59, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Cape Girardeau and Murphysboro, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring.

He was born March 14, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, son of Carl and Louise James Hahs. He and Patricia A. Turner were married April 21, 1992, in Paducah, Ky.

Hahs was a resident of Sebring the past 15 years, moving from Murphysboro. He was a former coal miner, heavy equipment operator and auctioneer.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Hahs was a member of American Legion Post 74 in Sebring. He attended First Assembly of God in Lake Placid, Fla.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Hahs of Sebring; a son, Jason Hahs of Sesser, Ill.; a stepson, Tony Glodo of Grand Tower, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Lori Arena of Langley, Okla.; a brother, Randy Hahs of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Debbie Little of Cape Girardeau; stepmother who raised him, Barbara Bower and husband John of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Jace and Jesse Hahs, Blake Bramlett, Erin Glodo, Dallas Glodo and Acey Arena.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip Roop and the Rev. Dan Stoffel officiating. Burial will be in Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower with full military honors by Paul Stout American Legion Post 127 in Murphysboro.
