Jimmie Tucker Jr., 84, of Cape Girardeau died Jan. 17, 2014, at Southeast Hospital.
Born on Oct. 29, 1929, in Paducah, Ky., he was the son of James A. and Jane Wood Tucker. On July 11, 1951, he married Joyce Jean Small in Evansville, Ind. He worked many years for Chrysler Automobile Manufacturing, retiring as a quality control engineer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years; two daughters, Teresa L. (Tom) Neumeyer of Cape Girardeau and Toni G. (Gary Williams) Tucker of Benton, Mo.; three grandchildren, Nathan (Tracey) Cooley, Gabriel (Jennifer) Dement and Erin Dement; four great-grandchildren, Erica Cooley, Karleigh Dement, Megan Cooley and Tucker Dement; and one brother, Jack Pierce of Owosso, Mich. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
A memorial celebration is being planned for a later date. Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Mo. is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to the local Habitat for Humanity, 2385 Rust Ave., Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.
