Jimmie Peeler

MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Jimmie E. Peeler, 68, of Mound City died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at St. Louis University Hospital.

He was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Cairo, Ill., son of Cletus and Vera Davault Peeler.

Peeler had been a deckhand on a riverboat, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Peeler of McClure, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.

A private burial will be held at a later date in Wickliffe Cemetery in Wickliffe, Ky.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
