James F. "Jim" Stovall II, 75, of Cape Girardeau was born May 13, 1945, to James and Viola M. Stovall. He went to meet his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, July 10, 2020. James F. "Jim" Stovall II, 75, of Cape Girardeau was born May 13, 1945, to James and Viola M. Stovall. He went to meet his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, July 10, 2020. He is now rejoicing with his Heavenly family.

On July 18, 1970, Jim married Amy L. Barringer. They had two children, Christy and Randy, in their nearly 50 years of marriage.

Jim graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1963. His nickname in high school was "Gunner," due to his desire to score in basketball. The nickname reflected Jim's zest for family and life. He was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and a charter member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Jim was a good athlete and golfer. He won the Member Guest Golf Tournament at the Cape Girardeau Country Club twice. He had a hole-in-one on No. 6 at Kimbeland Country Club. His golf handicap was two.

Jim is survived by his wife; daughter, Christy (Ron) Brooks; son, Randy (Sarah) Stovall; and grandchildren, Sam, Jack and Eleri Brooks, Reese, Paige, Finn and Eve Stovall.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, several cousins and loved ones.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 804 N. Cape Rock Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701, or the charity of choice.

A mask will be required to attend visitation and funeral.
