LEBANON, Ill. -- Jim Cory, 76, of Lebanon passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1940, in St. Louis, son of Glenn and Charlotte Stewart Cory. He and Lela Cook were married Feb. 12, 1972.
Jim worked in the mail department for Peoples National Bank and was active in Christian Chapel Church in McLeansboro, Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Fern Cory of Lebanon; sons, Denver (Kelly) Cook of Patton, Missouri, Kenneth R. (Vicky) Cook Sr. of McLeansboro and Randy L. (Connie) Cook of Burfordville; brothers, Robert Cory of St. Louis and Gilbert Duley of St. Charles, Missouri; sisters, Florence Demel of California and Charlotte Nichols of O'Fallon, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Paul James Cory; and brothers, Dewey, Glenn and Clyde Cory.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Steven Sander and Ruby McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
