EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for James Carl "Jim" Busby of St. Louis will be held at 3 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. The Rev. Gerald Brown will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until service time.

Busby, 62, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Oct. 26, 1936, in East Prairie, son of Jack and Nadine Chaney Busby. He and Barbara Chilton were married April 3, 1973.

Busby retired as a maintenance mechanic with Associated Electric. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William "Tony" Busby of St. Louis; two daughters, Luanne Brown of St. Louis, Lori Redding of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Kell Busby of Leroy, Mich.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
