Jewell A. Robinson, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre, Mo.
She was born Dec. 31, 1913, in Miller, Mo., daughter of Francis and Nettie Joseph Bryant. She and Allen Robinson were married in 1935 at Miller. He died Jan. 12, 1972.
Jewell had been a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was an avid quilter who donated many hours quilting to benefit Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Following the death of her husband, Allen, who was the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce, she was legal secretary for Steve Strom and later was a secretary at Southeast Missouri State University. An avid flower lover and gardener, she will be greatly missed by family, former neighbors and friends.
Survivors include a son, Leland Grant (Karen) Robinson of Anderson, Ind.; a daughter, Janice (Albert) Phillips of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Sheli Wright of Nixa, Mo., Janette Taaffee of Chesterfield, Mo., Paul Robinson of Honolulu, Jolene Freeman of Lafayette, Ind.; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Stahl Cemetery in Miller, with the Rev. Mark Wright officiating.
