Jewell Marie Lincecum, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at her home.

She was born May 15, 1932, in Jackson, to Glen Franklin and Elsie Marie Smith Seabaugh. She and Emory Emerson Lincecum were married Sept. 15, 1953, in Hernando, Miss. He preceded her in death March 25, 1990.

Jewell lived in Perry County, Mo., until 1951. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Perryville Public Schools.

She and Emory made their home in Cape Girardeau after he was discharged from the Navy.

Jewell worked at Ford and Sons Funeral Home and Cape County Memorial Park. She previously worked for B.W. Birk and Associates, Holiday Inn and Cape Transit Corp.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel and was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She served as LWML Ladies Guild president in 1999.

Jewell was an organizer of Junior Girls Softball League in Cape Girardeau, which later became a project of the Breakfast Optimist Club. She was active in Girl Scouting as a leader and troop organizer at Trinity Lutheran.

She was a life member of VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary and was past president of District 15. She held many chairmanships and was appointed to office in the state organization. She served as representative of volunteer services at Missouri Veterans Home for the 15th District of the VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of American Legion Post 63 Auxiliary.

She was selected as a volunteer of the year at Missouri Veterans Home for 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Kay "Bev" Meyer and husband Reg of Pacific, Mo., Patricia "Patti" Miinch of St. Charles, Mo.; three brothers, William "Bill" Seabaugh of Casa Grande, Ariz., Johnny Robert Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Glen "Junior" Seabaugh of Golden, Mo.; two sisters, Glenda Faye Darrow of Henderson, Nev., Patsy Jane Kaiser of Gordonville; five grandchildren, Steve Miinch, Jennifer Miinch, Brian (Carrie) Meyer, Kevin (Mandy) Meyer, Sarah Meyer; and a great-grandchild, Sophia Lynn Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Emerson Lincecum; her parents, Glen Franklin and Elsie Marie Seabaugh; a son-in-law, Stephen Randal Miinch; and a brother-in-law, Don Darrow.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home. The VFW Auxiliary will have a memorial service at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel, with the Rev. Barry L. Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
