Jewell Helmer

Jewell L. Helmer, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born March 6, 1920, in Jackson, daughter of Elvin and Hattie Scheper Headrick. She married John Helmer, who preceded her in death.

Helmer worked with her husband at the former Holiday Inn restaurant, retiring after 20 years.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and two infant siblings.

There was no service.

McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau was in charge of arrangements.
