MOREHOUSE -- Jewell Faye Scales, 67, of Morehouse, died Monday, Aug. 5, 1991, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
She was born July 1, 1924, at Van Buren, Ark., daughter of Daniel and Myrtle Wind Freeman. She married James Everett Scales Feb. 14, 1941, at Morehouse. He died May 22, 1982.
Scales had worked 15 years at National Lock Manufacturing Co. in Sikeston, retiring in 1989. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Sikeston.
Survivors include three sons, William Scales of Little Rock, Ark., James Scales of Altus, Okla., Charles Scales of Warner Robins, Ga.; a daughter, Betty LaGree of Jackson Route 4; a brother, Alvie J. Towel of Morehouse; a sister, Dessie Waller of St. Louis; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Larry Emerson will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
