CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Jewell Evelin Estes, 91, of Chaffee died Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.
She was born Oct. 29, 1931, in Morley, Missouri, to Charlie and Opal Woods Gilliland.
She married Everette Estes on Jan. 27, 1950, to which two children, Stephen and Samuel Estes, were born.
She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and volunteered at Cape Girardeau Senior Center.
Evelin worked at B&H Auto Supply, Ford Groves, Harris Truck & Trailer and Ohio Pacific Express, retiring in 1993. After retirement, she worked part-time at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, Cape Paint & Glass and Sam's Club.
Survivors include a son, Stephen (Patty) Estes, and their children, Elizabeth (Stephen) Barr, Amy (Eric) Crumpecker and Sarah (Adam) Summers; great-grandchildren, Mady and Anna Barr, Ella and Jake Crumpecker, and Abby and Charlotte Summers; son, Samuel (Brenda) Estes, and their children, Andy (Amanda) Estes, Alex (Katrina) Estes, Justin (Casey) Noble and Belinda (David Heath) Noble; and great-grandchildren, Parker, Foster, Penelope, Eleanor Estes and Reid and Anna Noble.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will follow at noon Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Southside Baptist Church or Cape Girardeau Senior Center.
