Funeral service for Jewell I. Ellis of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Revs. Jack Cathcart and Ron Brown officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Ellis, 63, died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born July 19, 1933, in Kurreville, daughter of William and Josephine Ates Welker. She and Jack F. Ellis were married Oct. 4, 1987, in Arkansas.
She had been a nurse's aide at Cape La Croix Nursing Center, and had worked at McDonald's Restaurant. She was a member of New Life World Outreach Center.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Mike Estes of Mountain Home, Ark.; two daughters, Kimberly Estes of Cape Girardeau, Susan Parr of Festus; a stepson, Mark Ellis of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Leo "Red" Welker of Fruitland; two sisters, Ilene Niswonger of Millerville, Modean Hahs of San Bernardino, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
