Jewel Goodson, 91, of Madison, Tenn., formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Alive Hospice at Skyline Madison Campus in Madison.
She was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of John Albert and Mabel Clara Samuel Watkins. She and George D. Goodson were married March 17, 1946. He passed away Feb. 3, 1998.
Jewel was a 1939 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and attended the former Cape Girardeau School of Business. She was a consultant for Avon in the west Cape Girardeau area for 39 years, and was part of the Presidents Club for Avon.
She was a Cub Scout den mother and member of the PTA at May Greene, Franklin and Alma Schrader elementary schools. Jewel was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.
Loving survivors include a son, Kent Goodson of Nashville, Tenn.; and a grandson, Dillon Goodson of Chicago.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Goodson in 1968; three brothers; and four sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Sullenger officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
