BERTRAND -- Jessie Ray "Bud" Pendergrass, 70, died Friday, May 12, 1995, at his residence in Bertrand.
He was born April 20, 1925, in Pocahontas, Ark., the son of Namon Lee and Essie Mae Helms Pendergrass. He married Myrtle Gertrude Casey March 6, 1943.
He had lived in Mississippi County since 1953 where he was a self-employed carpenter until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Old Reno, Ark., and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Pendergrass of Diehlstadt and Roger Pendergrass of Bertrand; a daughter, Brenda Spencer of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Willard Pendergrass of Nevada and Wilburn Pendergrass of Doniphan; three sisters, Geraldean Wilkerson of Doniphan, Pauline Wilkerson of Poplar Bluff and Maxine Barnes of Pocahontas, Ark.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife July 28, 1986.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Larry Stephenson will officiate with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
