MATTHEWS -- Funeral service for Jessie Hawkins of Matthews will be held at 1 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Ed Pangburn will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Hawkins, 89, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 20, 1905, in Golconda, Ill., daughter of William Peter and Lydia Alice Story Anderson. She and C.O. Hawkins were married Nov. 29, 1934, in Charleston. He died May 5, 1958.

Hawkins was a member of Matthews First Christian Church and New Madrid County Extension Club.
