Jesse R. Wilkinson, 76, of 1005 Jefferson in Cape Girardeua died Thursday, June 13, 1991, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1914, at Pueblo, Colo., the son of Guile and Ina Gladish Wilkinson. On Dec. 13, 1946, he married Charlotte Mifflin, who preceded him in death Nov. 18, 1990.
He was an engineer on the Mississippi River for 47 years, retiring in 1979 from the American Commercial Barge Line. He was a member of the Seafarer's Union.
Survivors include three sons, Guile "Butch " Wilkinson of Imperial, James Wilkinson of Scott City and Ron Huls of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Judith LeClere of Scott City; and four grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Sy Smith will officiate, and burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
