PATTON -- Jesse O. Yount, 91, of DeSoto, died Thursday, July 9, 1992, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Festus.
He was born April 19, 1901, at Marquand, son of Thomas J. and Alice Gromer Yount. He and Avis Evans were married Feb. 7, 1925. She died April 19, 1992.
Yount was a farmer, and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City, Ill.
Survivors include seven sons, Thomas Yount of Roodhouse, Ill., Jim Yount of Potosi, J.A. Yount of Arnold, Jerry Yount of Walls, Miss., John Yount of Richardson, Texas, Franklin Yount of Tucson, Ariz., Larry Yount of DeSoto; two daughters, Eithel Wallace of Granite City, Wanda Faulkner of state of California; a sister, May Woodfin of Patton; 29 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton after 4:30 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Fred Boatright will officiate, with burial in Liberty Cemetery at Marquand.
