PARMA -- Jesse James Tucker, 96, of Gainesville, died Sunday, May 14, 1995, at Gainesville Health Care Center.
He was born July 22, 1898, in Harrisburg, Ill., son of William B. and Ella Mae Gibbs Tucker. He and Olga Mable Hughes were married Sept. 20, 1919, in New Madrid. She died May 24, 1990.
Tucker owned and operated a bakery in Parma many years. He was a retired farmer and cotton gin worker. He moved to Gainesville in 1992. Tucker served in the U.S. Navy during World War I.
Survivors include a son, Charles Tucker of Louisiana, Mo.; a daughter, Jessie Garland of Canyon Lake, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons and a daughter.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmy Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
