ADVANCE, Mo. -- Jesse O. Hill Sr., 71, of Advance passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, in Advance.
He was born June 1, 1947, in Zalma, Missouri, the son of Jesse and Mae Wallace Hill. Jesse and Sonia Janette McClain were united in marriage June 24, 1967, in Stoddard County, Missouri, and she preceded him in death Nov. 18, 2016.
Jesse spent 16 years as a welder at Missouri Dry Dock in Cape Girardeau. He then worked as a welder for 32 years at Blattner Steel in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Advance.
Survivors include two sons, JR (Jeanette) Hill of Advance and Terry D. (Mary) Hill of Advance; two brothers, John Hill of Advance and Carl Hefner of Bloomfield, Missouri; four sisters, Lorrine Wallace of Advance, June Fischer of Lowdnes, Missouri, Corrine McMillim of Lowdnes and Bethel Cook of Bell City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Michael (Traci) Hill and Corey Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Izabell Hill and Corey Hill Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Pat Hill.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funral home, with the Rev. Chad Farris officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
