WHITEWATER -- Jesse F. Smith, 75, Whitewater Route 1, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1992, at his home.

He was born Jan. 17, 1917, north of Whitewater, son of Walter D. and Bessie Ann Green Smith.

Smith was a farmer all his life, with the exception of two years that he was a deckhand on the river.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Mike Hyson of Jackson, and two aunts, Beulah and Eula Green of Whitewater.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Bill Belmar will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
