Jesse Paul Culbertson Sr., 73, of Chandler, Ind., died Monday, June 28, 2004, at Columbia Health Care in Evansville, Ind.
He was born June 18, 1931, at Commerce, Mo., son of Jesse Pillar and Bendia Melinda Graham Culbertson. He and Mary Ellen Finley were married Dec. 1, 1951, in Piggott, Ark.
Culbertson was formerly of Scott City. He was employed 33 years at Jefferson-Smurfit in Evansville, retiring in 1993 as plant foreman. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church in Booneville, Ind.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jesse Culbertson Jr. of Brown Deere, Wis., Gary Culbertson of Booneville, Keith Culbertson of Rogers, Ark.; two daughters, Paula Dolanski of Barling, Ark., Sharron Phillips of Tamms, Ill.; a brother, Eugene Culbertson of Fruitland; a sister, Thelma Marshall of Zion, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Daryl Jessie officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
