Jerry Lee Faber, 75, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at his home after a difficult battle with cancer. Jerry was born April 22, 1947, in Amboy, Illinois, to Henry and Rosalia Faber. Jerry Lee Faber, 75, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at his home after a difficult battle with cancer.

Jerry was born April 22, 1947, in Amboy, Illinois, to Henry and Rosalia Faber.

He earned a doctorate degree in animal nutrition from Iowa State University. He worked for Central Soya and Archer Daniels Midland feed company for 34 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1974 as a first lieutenant, after completing the ROTC program.

Jerry married Glenda Hoge in 1968. They have four children, Andrea (Paul) Taylor of Champaign, Illinois; Anthony (Melissa) Faber of Jackson; Andrew (Kelley) Faber of Zionsville, Indiana; and Trevor (Danielle) Faber of Teutopolis, Illinois.

He has nine granddaughters, Grace (Jake) McKown, Olivia Taylor, Laura Taylor, Maya Faber, Alexis Faber, Addison Faber, Leah Faber, Emily Faber and Anna Faber; and two stepgrandsons, Jordan Yahn and Devon Yahn.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Glenda; children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norman and Ralph Faber; and his sister, Shirley Rod.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 640 W. Independence St. in Jackson, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at South Campus of New McKendree United Methodist Church, 1770 S. Hope St. in Jackson.

The Rev. Bryan Wendling will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, at the church. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be made to New McKendree United Methodist Church or to Old McKendree Chapel, a United Methodist shrine.
