Jerry Dean Brotherton, 68, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 5, 1941, in Patton, Mo., son of J.B. and Lena Hahn Brotherton. He and Jacque Dillow were married July 9, 1966, at First Baptist Church in Jackson.
Jerry was a graduate of Jackson High School. He served in the National Guard from 1963 to 1969.
He retired from Procter & Gamble where he had been a line technician more than 25 years. He previously was a bookkeeper at Richardson Tire Service and also worked at Superior Electric. Jerry was an avid tool collector and auction attendee.
Survivors include his spouse, Jacque Brotherton of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Kara (Darin) Scruggs and Erin (Shaun) Craig both of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Wayne Brotherton of Fredericktown, Mo., Donald Brotherton of Missouri; five grandchildren, Taryn, Joe and Taylor Scruggs, and Dylan and Tyler Craig.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
