Jerry Brantley

Jerry P. Brantley, 75, of Millersville passed away Oct. 23, 2011, at his home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1936, in Charter Oak, Mo., son of James Franklin and Essie Ethel Brantley. He and Virginia Marie Butler were married April 6, 1958.

Jerry was a conductor with Cotton Belt and Southern Pacific Railroads, retiring in 1997. He was a founding member of Royal Rangers in Scott City; member of Royal Rangers of Marble Hill, Mo., UTU and Jackson Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia of Marble Hill; four sons, James and Brian Brantley of Marble Hill, Brandon Brantley of Cape Girardeau, Douglas Brantley of Festus, Mo.; a daughter, Kimberly Hubbard of Austin, Ark.; a sister, the Rev. Gay Davis of Rapid City, S.D.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Sherman; and two sisters, Camilla and Lucille.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Loise Moses and John Davis officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery near Sedgewickville, Mo.
