EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Jerrold Emmett Powers, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at Three Rivers Health Care North Campus in Poplar Bluff.

He was born June 2, 1917, in East Prairie, son of William Arthur and Myrtle Methany Powers.

Powers moved to Poplar Bluff 27 years ago from East Prairie. He was a retired farmer, and member of Dogwood United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Steve Powers of East Prairie; a daughter, Paulette Spence of Benton, Mo.; a brother, Harold Powers of East Prairie; and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a grandson and a brother.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with David Dowdy and Walter Bryars officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
