ANNA, Ill. -- Jerome A. Lutz, 83, of Anna, died Monday, Oct. 3, 1994, at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1911, in Sparta, son of James Howard and Carrie Ratcliff Lutz. He and Kathleen Hill were married in 1934. She died in 1962. He later married Lucille Wahl.
For many years Lutz operated Anna Memorial Service and later Lutz Marble Co. He had also owned and operated Delaney Lake Lodge in Kenora, Canada. For the past several years he custom built furniture.
He was a member of Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Anna Masonic Lodge 520 AF&AM, Cobden American Legion Post 259, and charter member of Anna Elks Lodge 1641. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Georgianna Ralls and Rebecca Brimm of Anna; a stepson, Edward Wahl of Marion; a stepdaughter, Nancy Spejcher of Lombard; two sisters, Mabel Norris of Jonesboro, Kathryn Alongi of DuQuoin; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Wilkinson officiating. Entombment will be in Anna Cemetery.
