Doris "Jennie" Friedrich, 85, of Jackson passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 26, 1919, in Jackson, daughter of Henry A. and Mary Ann Clingingsmith Steinhoff. She and Ralph H. Friedrich were married March 9, 1947. He passed away Feb. 4, 1984.
Jennie worked at the former Fulenwider Drug Store in Jackson. She was the bookkeeper 49 years at Friedrich Sheet Metal in Jackson, which she and her husband owned and operated.
She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and a member and secretary of the Fidelis Sunday school class, member of the former JG Card Club and formerly assisted with Job's Daughters Bethel 60, both in Jackson.
Loving survivors include six children and their families: two sons, Jim and Kathy Friedrich, children Ria and Rika, a grandson Hunter; Allen Friedrich, children Blake and Trent; four daughters, Mary and John Thompson, children Emily and Sara; Kathy Friedrich, all of Jackson; Jennifer Cook, children Allison and Richard of League City, Texas; Nonie and Anthony Cowell, children Luke and Toni, grandsons Zach and Elliot of Marble Hill and Jackson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carter Frey officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Luke and Anthony Cowell, Richard Cook, Blake and Trent Friedrich, and John Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Elliot and Zach Cowell and Hunter Friedrich.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
