Jeffery Adam Young passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at his Cape Girardeau home.
Jeffery was born Sept. 19, 2000, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau to Robert Young Jr. and Angela Clover.
He was an early graduate from Cape Girardeau Central High School, Class of 2019. He entered the workforce as a laborer and food industry worker.
He had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
Jeffery enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing video games and wrestling.
Among his many life achievements, he was most proud of being a father to Phoenix, his only child and his entire world.
Jeffery was also an accomplished martial artist and earned his blue belt under Kobe and Chad Morrison at Perryville (Missouri) Jiu Jitsu. He had an outstanding competition pedigree as well, winning Jiu Jitsu tournaments such as Fuji, Submission Only and American Grappling Federation tournaments. He also had a 1-1 record in mixed martial arts.
Jeffery is survived and loved by his father, Robert Young of Cape Girardeau; son, Phoenix Young of Cape Girardeau; sisters, Audrey Williams of Morrison, Illinois, and Natalie Young of Cape Girardeau; brother, Santos Pastor of Perryville; and grandmother, Debra Clover of Scott City. He also is survived and loved by numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his loving mother and paternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Young.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery.
