Jeanne Neels Hey, 37, of 1658 Westwood, died Sunday, May 16, 1993, at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born June 4, 1955, at St. Louis, daughter of Gerald and the late Betty Roth Neels.
She was married to Everett Hey, Aug. 30, 1975, in St. Louis.
Neels Hey was the executive director of Rehabilitation Services at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was a 1973 graduate of Mehlville High School in St. Louis. She graduated from the Missouri Baptist Hospital Nursing Program in 1975. She received her B.S.N. at Maryville College in 1990.
Neels Hey was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, the Missouri Nurses Association, the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, the Sigma Theta Tau Inc./Lambda Theta Chapter, and the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross in Cape Girardeau County.
She was the first recipient of Spirit of Rehabilitation Award in September 1992; she received recognition of superior services to the Cape Girardeau County chapter of the American Red Cross in 1991; and was named in Who's Who in American Nursing in 1991.
Survivors include her father and step-mother, Gerald and Barb Neels of St. Louis; her husband of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Christina Hey of Cape Girardeau, Heather Hey of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Gerald Neels Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a step-brother, Darryl Davidson of St. Louis; and two step-sisters, Linda Miller of St. Louis, Melissa Drake of St. Louis.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. A parish prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Rich Lause officiating.
Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
