Jeanette C. Estes, 95, of Jackson died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Jackson Manor.

She was born March 5, 1918, in Cooter, Mo., to Annelah Sands and George Franklin Cranford. Jeanette became the beloved wife of Dallas J. Estes in 1940, and they enjoyed 61 happy years together. He preceded her in death May 1, 2001.

Jeanette lived most of her life in Cape Girardeau, moving to Jackson in 1968 when Dallas took over management of Jones Drug Store, where she worked in her later years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Her greatest joys in life were being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and creating a loving, happy home, which she did very well.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Davault and husband Dale of Jackson; two grandsons, Matthew Wayne Goddard and wife Jill of Jones, Okla., and Ryan Andrew Goddard and wife Stephanie of Gordonville; and three great-grandsons, Bo Wayne Goddard, Hal Daniel Goddard and Charles Carter Henning.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe Mack Estes; and a son-in-law, Hal W. Goddard.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randel Poole officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
