CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Jean Duniphan, 83, of Chaffee passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Advance Nursing Center. She was born Aug. 8, 1931, at Dongola, Missouri, daughter of Robert and Sadie Silcox Humphreys. Jean and Loman A. Duniphan were married July 2, 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death July 28, 1992...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Jean Duniphan, 83, of Chaffee passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 8, 1931, at Dongola, Missouri, daughter of Robert and Sadie Silcox Humphreys. Jean and Loman A. Duniphan were married July 2, 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death July 28, 1992.

Jean was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chaffee, where she taught Sunday school and also had attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was a member of Trainmen Ladies Auxiliary to UTU Railroad 474.

She had been a Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts leader. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She was an avid lover of sports and never missed watching a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. She loved taking care of her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Cinda (Ralph) Hall of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and Stacy (Kevin) Grus of Union, Missouri; two sons, Steve Duniphan of Burfordville and Kent (Sandy) Duniphan of Imperial, Missouri; a son-in-law, Bill Morgan Jr. of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Charles Humphreys of St. Louis and Ivan Humphreys of Marble Hill, Missouri; and a sister, Rosetta Lingle of St. Louis.

Also 10 grandchildren, Nikki (Chris) Morgan Cary, Kaci (Luke) Morgan Below, Ashley (Zach) Kimball, Jodi Duniphan, Kristen (Ryan) Connelly, Jaime (Ryan) DuPatz, Tyler (Kim Harper) Dannenmueller, Cody (Antoinette) Duniphan, Macy Duniphan and Jordan (Lauren) Webb; seven great-grandchildren, Lane Below, Morgan Cary, Jack Below, Reagan Cary, Lucy Connelly, Julius Kimball and Evie Connelly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Regena Morgan; five brothers, George, R.C., Clyde, Fred and Larry Humphreys; and a sister, Velma Ward.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
