ADVANCE, Mo. -- Jean Camren, 83, of Advance passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Advance Nursing Center. She was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of Charles and Alice Gillihan Richardson. Jean was a seamstress. She had also worked at Inland Shoe Factory in Advance and farmed with her husband. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Jean Camren, 83, of Advance passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of Charles and Alice Gillihan Richardson.

Jean was a seamstress. She had also worked at Inland Shoe Factory in Advance and farmed with her husband. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers.

She and Hurshel "Babe" Camren were married Dec. 21, 1945. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 2010.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Mark Illers of Jackson, Cindy and Dean Manuel of Advance; four grandchildren, Kris Manuel of Cape Girardeau, Jennifer Beard of Farmington, Mo., Lacey Illers of Henderson, Ky., Ethan Manuel of Advance; and two great-grandchildren, Kaima Manuel and Kailey Beard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
