SIKESTON, Mo. -- Jesse D. "Pete" Castleberry, 92, of Sikeston died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner, Mo. He was born Feb. 7, 1911, in Pangburn, Ark., son of Clayton Carroll and Viola King Castleberry. He and Letha Geraldine Andres were married Oct. 11, 1930, in Sikeston. She died Jan. 20, 1989...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Jesse D. "Pete" Castleberry, 92, of Sikeston died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner, Mo.

He was born Feb. 7, 1911, in Pangburn, Ark., son of Clayton Carroll and Viola King Castleberry. He and Letha Geraldine Andres were married Oct. 11, 1930, in Sikeston. She died Jan. 20, 1989.

Castleberry was a meatcutter with Learue and McKinnie Grocery Store in Miner. He was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ and had been an elder.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Castleberry of Crystal Lake, Ill., Donald Castleberry of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Sue Kraus of Oran, Mo., Jean Chism of Morrilton, Ark.; a brother, Gerald Castleberry of North Carolina; two sisters, Josie Yant of East Prairie, Mo., Mildred Hamilton of California; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with Pat Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Morley, Mo.
